Paneer Butter Masala

Today's recipe is the very popular Paneer Butter Masala.


Ingredients

  1. Paneer - 500 gms
  2. Butter - 5 tbsp.
  3. Oil- 1 tsp
  4. Bay leaves -2
  5. Cloves -2
  6. Cinnamon - 2(1 inch)
  7. Onion Sliced - 1 medium
  8. Ginger Paste - 2 tsp
  9. Garlic Paste - 2 tsp
  10. Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
  11. Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
  12. Tomato chopped - 5-6medium
  13. Salt - to taste
  14. Kasoori Methi crushed- 1/2 tsp
  15. Fresh cream - 2 tbsp.

How to cook

  1. Heat three tablespoon of butter with one teaspoon of oil in a kadai. Then add bay leaves, cloves, cinnamon. Sauté it for one minute.
  2. Add onion and stir fry for one minute and then add ginger- garlic paste and saute for another 1 minute. Add coriander powder, red chilli powder and tomatoes.
  3. Cook on high flame till oil leaves the masala. Puree the mixture.
  4. Heat the two tablespoon of butter and add the pureed mixture. Then add 1/2- 3/4 cups of water and paneer cubes to the pureed mixture.
  5. Cover the kadai with a lid and cook on low flame for another five minutes.
  6. Add kasoori methi and mix well.
  7. Remove it from heat and add fresh cream and mix it well.
  8. Remove to a serving bowl and garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve warm with naan/chapathi/roti.
