Mampazha Pulissery

Mambazha pulissery is a signature kerala dish.

You Required
  1. Mangoes (Ripe) - 2
  2. Green Chillies - 5
  3. Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
  4. Salt - to taste
  5. Water - 1 cup
  6. Buttermilk - 1 1/2 cup
To grind together
  1. Grated Coconut- 1cup
  2. Cumin seeds - 2 pinch
  3. Red Chilli powder - 1 tsp

Ammini Kozhukattai Recipe



There are so many variations of Ammini Kozhukattai/Mani Kozhukattai and
this is my version.

Ingredients ( Serves 2)

1. Rice Flour - 1 cup
2. Salt - to taste
3.Water - 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 cup
4. Grated Coconut - 3 tbsp.

To Temper

1. Oil - 2 tsp
2. Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
3. Urad dal - 1tsp
4. Red chilli ( Whole) - 1 or 2
5. Curry Leaves - 1 Sprig

Koorka Mezhukkupuratti (Stir-Fried Chinese Potatoes)


Koorka/ Chinese Potatoes are small tubers that resemble arbi. It’s a seasonal veggie available in Kerala. It has got a grainy texture and I love it. Recently  I bought  Koorka from  one of super markets and I made this dish which is very easy and tasty. But cleaning koorka is a very laborious task.

Avial / Aviyal


Since its my post I thought of putting a common recipe from my kitchen. This is one such dish, which is simple, healthy and yet tasty. The recipe which is posted below is the common one which I prepare on every other day. On special occasions like onam, vishu or birthdays I prepare slightly different version. I prepared this one with three vegetables. Almost all vegetables can be used.The vegetables should be cut uniformly, length wise ½ “wide. I used pressure cooker to cook this one. This serves two.
